Position: Software Engineer (Frontend), Square Console We are on the lookout for a well-rounded Software Engineer (Frontend), Square Console to contribute to our operational and strategic priorities. Duties and Accountabilities: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and system performance issues. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a culture of engineering excellence. Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog grooming and sprint reviews. Produce clear technical documentation including architecture diagrams and API contracts. Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and QA engineers to ship quality features. Evaluate and adopt third-party tools, libraries, and frameworks to improve velocity. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend services at scale. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines ensuring reliable, automated, and consistent deployments. Key Skills and Qualifications: Effective presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity. Recognised qualification in the relevant professional field at the undergraduate or graduate level. Sound understanding of organisational dynamics and stakeholder management in complex environments. Leadership experience with a track record of guiding teams, projects, or cross-functional initiatives. Critical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate insights into clear actions. 5+ years of experience with demonstrated progression in scope, complexity, and responsibility.
