Performs elective and emergency general surgical procedures daily. Manages appendicitis, hernias, gallbladder disease, and bowel conditions. Performs laparoscopic and open abdominal surgical techniques. Conducts pre-operative evaluation and post-operative patient care. Manages surgical complications and coordinates ICU care. Participates in MDT discussions for complex surgical cases. Supervises surgical residents and medical students in theatre. Ensures sterile technique and patient safety in the OR. Reviews imaging and pathology to plan surgical interventions. Performs endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy and colonoscopy. Contributes to surgical audit and quality improvement programs. Stays current with surgical guidelines and evidence-based practice. Manages emergency on-call duties and trauma cases.
